Freelance Communications & Engagement Consultant

The Zone is entering an exciting period of organisational growth and development, supported by significant new MHCLG funding and informed by research into the needs of young people in Plymouth.

We are looking for an experienced Freelance Communications & Engagement Consultant to help us strengthen our communications, tell our story, engage our audiences and build staff confidence and skills.

The role will focus on:

Communications: Reviewing our approach and building staff confidence.

Social Media: Strengthening content, engagement and digital storytelling.

Fundraising: Developing fundraising messages and supporting community giving/crowdfunding.

Engagement: Supporting up to three events with partners, stakeholders and young people.

Capacity Building: Creating practical tools and approaches we can continue to use.

We're looking for someone who combines strategic thinking, practical delivery and the ability to build confidence in others.

Experience in charity, voluntary sector, youth, homelessness, public health or community development settings would be advantageous.

This is a capacity-building consultancy, not an outsourced communications role. We want someone who will work alongside our team and leave us with greater confidence and capability.
