Emergency Contraception

Emergency contraception (the morning after pill) can be used if a contraceptive method fails (for example a condom splits or a pill is forgotten or taken late) or no contraception is used.

Emergency contraception is more effective the sooner after sex it is taken so it is important that you seek emergency contraceptive advice as quickly as possible.

To protect the public and NHS staff, most face to face appointments are being replaced with telephone calls. This means that the sexual health drop in at the Zone is closed for the time being. All work is now being coordinated from SHiP (Sexual Health in Plymouth) based up at Derriford so for emergency contraception please call SHiP on 01752 431124.

Emergency contraception (the morning after pill) is also available for free to women under 25 at pharmacies across the city including those below:
