PROJECT MANAGER – SAFE ZONE

£31,500–£35,000 per annum | 37 hours per week | Flexible and compressed working available

Leading the development and delivery of a brand-new, ambitious early intervention housing support service for young people aged 16–25 who are at risk of homelessness.

We are looking for an experienced and motivated Project Manager to lead our new SAFE Zone (Supporting At-risk Futures Early) service. This is an exciting opportunity to help establish and shape a new project designed to prevent homelessness and provide earlier support to young people across Plymouth.

You will provide strategic and operational leadership, overseeing the mobilisation and development of the service and leading a team to deliver high-quality, strengths-based and trauma-informed support. The service will include drop-in support, an advice line, group activities, volunteer-led support and one-to-one casework, alongside family work, mediation and early intervention.

You will develop strong partnerships and referral pathways, including a Team Around Me approach, helping ensure young people have coordinated support from the right professionals, services and trusted people around them.

The role will also contribute to the redevelopment of The Zone’s building and development of a new day centre, helping create an accessible environment designed around the needs of young people.

A key focus will be performance, outcomes and impact, using data, feedback and learning to demonstrate the difference SAFE Zone is making and continually improve the service.

The successful candidate will have significant experience of leading services for young people or people experiencing multiple disadvantage, with strong leadership, partnership-working and service development skills. You will be confident, collaborative and values-led, with a strong understanding of youth homelessness, early intervention and prevention.

This is a unique opportunity to lead the establishment of a new service and help shape both the SAFE Zone offer and the environment in which young people access support.

This post is funded through the MHCLG Ending Homelessness in Communities Fund.
