Icebreak provides a friendly and accessible service committed to supporting and empowering people aged 16- 25 years who are experiencing emotional distress.

You may experience this as difficulties with daily living, problems in forming or maintaining relationships, self-harm or suicidal behaviours or a sense of not belonging.

We will work with you to support your strengths & help challenges.

Icebreak works in Plymouth, Ivybridge and Tavistock.

"I needed defining...

Hearing the words 'personality disorder' made me feel better. Not because I wanted to have an illness or condition but because what I've always needed is to have some kind of label so that I could feel sure about at least one part of what makes me who I am.

It explains to me why I struggle so much to commit to my own opinions and am often very easily influenced, even though I am fairly intelligent and responsible. This must be why I constantly question myself and surround myself with strong, dominating, opinionated people. It explains why I have never fitted into a permanent place in any group and why I often think about which 'part of myself' might be suited to a person I’m starting a relationship with...I feel like a whirlwind of confusion about what or who to be and can therefore never build a real relationship because I'm not one whole person so don't know what I want and live in constant fear of people leaving me because I'm not showing them the right side of me."
